indicator-cpufreq software package provides CPU frequency scaling indicator, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install indicator-cpufreq
indicator-cpufreq is installed in your system.
Make ensure the indicator-cpufreq package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep indicator-cpufreq *
You will get with indicator-cpufreq package name, version, architecture and description in a table
